Undergrad courses for Markets

Hello Leap community,
I am an undergrad in a Maths programme and I would like to start my career in finance by an internship in a trading team in a bank. I wanted to ask how I could choose my courses this year to be best prepared for the internship and a career in trading.

Thank you in advance.

there is a decent number of classes you could take to prepare you for a career in Markets. I would recommend the following:

  • options pricing theory (Black & Scholes, derivatives)
  • asset pricing
  • Financial econometrics
  • stochastic calculus (since you have a background in math) & probability
  • econ classes, like macro & fed policy
  • Statistics, analysis of financial data & time series, R
  • corporate finance, at least a basic class
  • Com Sci classes, especially programming in python
  • a few machine learning classes

this list is not exhaustive of course, but it’s a good start for some interested in trading
