I’m studying to be a swe but I’m increasingly feel like most swe jobs are very isolating and don’t interact with people as much as I would like. Are there any other options for me where I can do a job that requires coding (or at least requires knowledge of it) and talking to a lot of people?
In my experience, having great social skills gives you an edge as a developer and may allow you to get promoted faster. If you really don’t want to code, I would consider project management, tech sales, web developer, tech consulting or even digital marketing. All of these roles involve a lot ore interaction with different teams within and outside of your company. My advice is since your education and background is in computer science, start as a developer first and then perhaps reevaluate.
I definitely agree with tech sales, they tend to be VERY extroverted.
