does anyone know what type of questions to expect in a product manager internship interview? I don’t have anything lined up yet, but just trying to get a head start this summer.
The interviews are usually a combination of analytical and technical, mostly the former. You would get an open ended case study about a specific product (e.g. we noticed that people aren’t posting as many reels as before, what would you do to fix it?). You should prob do the following:
- ask lots of questions
- describe concrete steps in detail
- show your understanding of the product and case
- go through what your solution to the problem would be
- give metrics that would measure the success of your solution
- A/B testing or hypothesis testing
The technical part, if any, may be a coding challenge in Python, SQL or R. This part is pretty straight forward esp if you have some coding experience since they will give you some data and ask you to process and analyze it. Also expect behavioral and fit questions as well. Cracking the PM Interview is a good book to use.
