I’m in the process of interviewing at HF/HFT firms and even though right now I’m not in the position to be picky about where to go, I don’t want to go to a firm where I end up hating my life. I know these firms differ a lot in terms of culture, WLB, types of people etc. but which ones would you say are better on the spectrum? Thanks!
I would say Jane Street, Two Sigma, DE Shaw have decent work culture
I think it depends also on what kinds of roles you’re interviewing for. I believe as a quant/trader at most HFs will not be as bad as the experience of a developer or SWE (tech). Also, many firms these days are trying to adopt a culture more like silicon valley.
And I would add Jump Street, HRT, Tower etc. to that list as well.
I’m interviewing for quant roles, not tech. Is it true Citadel is one of the worst places?
