Extracurricular/non-academic experience for finance internships

Hi everyone. To prepare for next year, I want to know if firms care about EC activities or anything non-academic that you do that’s on your CV when considering candidates? If yes, how important is it? Also what level of involvement is ideal?

I don’t participate a lot in clubs and such but if it is very important I will have to find a way to do so. Any suggestions as to what kinds of activities would be greatly appreciated.

They care about leadership so if try to get an exec position at a club

I would also just add anything that would set you apart from others e.g. an interesting project you did, a program you participated in) and anything that involved working in a team, leading a team, or both.
